Liv to run

Lots of random ranting, whining, and attempts at being humourous as I run, run, run in pursuit of higher mileage and better races.

Why

do other people always get in the way of running? And I'm not talking about sharing the sidewalk. Every time I have my day perfectly planned out around a run, someone drops by the apartment, or phones with some long story, or whatever, and because I love these people I sacrifice my run over and over and over again to hear them out. It's making me into one very antsy non-runner.

Don't answer the door and turn the phone off. Once you have gotten in a few miles they will be better off for it. You will be a happy person!!!

Just tell it like it is.. Your friends will understand (or should) if they do not they will learn to..

    Cheers.

I agrew with Miss Petite America, tell them you are on your way for a run, they are welcome to wait and you'll give them full attention when you get back, or they are welcome to come with you...but you are giving your time and energy to them cause you love them, if they love you they should understand your need to run!

Oh how people love to hijack your running time. I run on my lunch just about every day. It should be common knowledge to my co-workers that I have this narrow window of time to run, shower, grab a quick bite and get back to work. Invariably, they come to me right as I'm leaving with something that is not really important. But to them it is a crisis that needs immediate attention. So the question becomes... are these people knowlingly trying to stop us from running?? I think yes and it is your duty to not let them win. Liv, stop them now for all our sakes. Do not let the NRF's win.

I was going to say what "Gotta Run" said.

They can leave a note at the door, or leave a message on the phone! ha ha - j.k.

just ignore those distractions. They will still be there when you get back from your run. Thats one of my favorite things about running. Its the perfect break from the chaos of normal life
